About Richard Kail.
Commissioning a photographer is as much about the photographer as the images they make. Therefore I think it’s good if I tell you something more about myself, in my own words.
And so…. I am a professional photographer based in Stockholm, Sweden.
My background is pretty much photography from the start.. I studied photography at college in the UK, and I’ve worked since, as photo assistant and photographer in fashion, catalogue, and commercial studios, in the UK and Sweden ever since….. And, with my own studio in Stockholm for the past 25 years. The pictures shown here of course show you something of my photography and how I perceive the world around me, through my cameras..
The most asked question is “what do you specialise in” ? The answer would have to be simply “photography”, not every kind of photography of course.. But most kinds.. It’s more fun that way.. Specialisation is better left to insects.. !
Of course there are some things I enjoy photographing more than others.. But photography itself is my chosen profession; and I enjoy the challenge of whatever I am asked to do.. Because I just love to make pictures.. Even when I’m not getting paid for it. (It’s very unusual for me to go anywhere without a camera, just in case I see that special …Something…)
You commission me because you want photographs that have my style, and work for whatever brief you give me: Selling your products, informing your customers or just attracting attention or illustrating an idea. And the words “professional photographer” mean that I’ll always get the job done, on time, and to the highest standard. (There is nothing that leaves the studio that isn’t the to very highest standard!)
And colour, black and white, sharp, blurred, digital, analog.. ? Of course; I use them all..
Anything to make simply the best images I can…
